Private markets represent a growing share of portfolios, but illiquid assets are often excluded from ESG assessments.
To bridge this gap, Nummus.Info has developed a platform dedicated to private markets, designed to integrate the sustainability of illiquid products into portfolio analysis.
It covers Private Equity and Private Debt, Venture Capital, Infrastructure and Real Estate funds, assigning each product a numerical sustainability score and an ESG rating that can be easily compared with the liquid component, where present.
It has already been applied to over 400 private market instruments in collaboration with more than 180 investment companies.
Data collection
The manager is given a structured questionnaire on the product, ESG policies and issuers in the portfolio.
Analysis in 6 ESG areas
The platform assesses policies and procedures, sustainability KPIs, integration of ESG factors into the product, management of ESG risks and opportunities in the portfolio, alignment with SDGs, monitoring and reporting.
Calculation of score and rating
The results of the six areas are summarised in a sustainability score which is converted into a three-level ESG rating (low, medium, high).
Final report and use
The manager receives a detailed report, which allows them to compare the sustainability of different products and obtain a holistic view of the portfolio, integrating liquid and illiquid components.
